Republic Services of Southern Nevada is dedicated to handling your recycling and waste needs in a way that is easy, effortless, and environmentally responsible. We are Southern Nevada’s preferred trash and recycling provider because we offer simple solutions, environmentally responsible disposal options, and we are a community and business partner you can rely on.

MGM Resorts is committed to protecting the planet by managing materials and waste responsibly in its resorts. The extensive diversion program includes traditional recyclables such as paper, plastic, and metal, as well as food waste from pig farms, grease to create biofuels, and food donations to support local charities. Material diversion practices occur away from guests in behind-the-scenes sorting facilities. Since 2017, MGM Resorts has diverted more than 600,000 tons of materials from the landfill, including 300,000 tons of food waste.

UNLV is committed to sustainability. A campus-wide recycling program was implemented in 1995. In 2023, we started the process of writing a Climate Action Plan that we are called Rebel CAP. If you’d like to provide input in the process, please consider filling out our Ideas Assessment Survey:

Powershift by NV Energy is excited to recycle Incandescent & Compact Florescent (CFL) light bulbs as part of Nevada Recycles Day event on November 15. All customers who bring in an old bulb will get a new replacement LED bulb for free (up to 4 per family with 4 or more old bulbs recycled). These new energy efficient LED light bulbs will assist our customers by reducing their energy consumption and lowering their electric bill.

OSIT works to coordinate and align efforts by K-12 and higher education, workforce development, and employers to improve science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and STEM workforce development so that Nevada’s workforce can meet the demands of its growing economy. In addition, OSIT coordinates the planning, mapping, and procurement of broadband to ensure connectivity across Nevada for schools, libraries, hospitals, clinics and communities meets national standards.

Humane and Sustainable, Las Vegas takes this motto seriously. The LVL team provides excellent care to the animals. Sustainability is always a priority of the farm by creating a system to convert food scraps generated in Las Vegas into livestock feed. With over 400 tons of food scraps produced in Las Vegas daily, LVL is best sustainable solution for food scraps in Southern Nevada, offering superior service at the best value.

Founded by Tesla co-founder and former CTO, JB Straubel, Redwood Materials is developing a closed-loop supply chain for lithium-ion batteries, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for electric vehicles and clean energy products.

Redwood will be onsite collecting any old lithium-ion batteries or rechargeable devices that you’ve been holding onto in your junk drawers! Bring them to the event and we’ll show you how your old batteries can help build the next generation of electric vehicles. Redwood will also have recruiters onsite to talk to anyone interested in learning more about a career at a circular battery materials company.
